Synopsis[]
It is December 22nd, the year is almost over, and Tomoko relives what she has failed to do so far in the year. Unhappy thinking about the past, she decides to concentrate on the future. The year is still not over, she rationalizes, and she starts with her homework which includes a career survey. She feels she is best at art, particularly literature, but she calls Yū to get a second opinion. This unfortunately backfires on her as Yū happily reminds Tomoko about her desire in middle school to become an arms dealer, thereby making Tomoko relive her past. Yū talks at length about how she thought Tomoko was "awesome" for having such clear life goals.
Tomoko falls silent, then politely ends the call then opens her window. As the cold wind blows into her face, she begs for the New Year to wash away her past while wondering how Yū could remember such things about her.

Memorial Moments[]
- Subtle indication that Tomoko was more open in middle school, at least with Yū. Since she never learned Kotomi Komiyama's name who was also a friend of Yū, this may just mean Tomoko could only be open with Yū.
