Synopsis

The main page depicts Tomoko in her uniform walking to school on the top of a wall. The narration states: "It's already Spring, but nothing has changed."

The start of spring break begins with some news about a male teacher wearing women’s clothing and flashing his privates to school children. Later, Tomoko uses a make-shift anti-pollen kit, consisting of goggles, a mask, a hooded sweat-shirt, and gathered-at-the-knees sweat pants to go outside. She decides to change into a skirt so that people do not mistake her as a pervert. Her initial foray outside seems successful: her eyes do not itch nor tear. Her first stop is the park where she can look at the cherry blossoms.

At the park, a number of kids play together on swings and in the sand box. Tomoko sits on a bench enjoying the spring without pollen. As she lays back perhaps dozing, she unknowingly spreads her legs while relaxing on the bench. Children and mothers see this. The mothers contact a policeman who gently confronts her. Luckily for her, he was quick to notice that she was a girl and sends her away, telling her take better care of herself as a girl. At home, Tomoko cries from embarrassment and allergies.

• Tomoko is allergic to pollen. WataMote Wiki knew there was a reason she always has a box of tissues at her computer.

• Anti-Pollen "Kits" are, indeed, a thing in Japan. With the cherry blossoms come the allergies.
• Higanjima: partially censored for copyright, appears a reference to the manga and live-action movies of the same name.
