Synopsis

On the day of the school athletic meet, Tomoko stands bored as the team leaders address the classes. As students compete, Tomoko goes off on her own waiting for her turn. She wonders what is the point of such competition since the teams are random, and the losers do not die. As she reviews the list of events, she laments "the one I get stuck with is . . ." as the story cuts back to the previous week when Ogino picked people for different activities at random, leaving Tomoko with the three-legged race and the borrowing race. Tomoko finds it stupid that they place a loner into events that required coordination with others.

For the borrowing race, Tomoko has to find a "hot guy," which excites her but also freaks her out to the point she wishes she was suppose to pick someone with eyeglasses, since she would find it easier to ask Kotomi than a guy. Wide-eyed and stunned, she awkwardly approaches Tomoki, who naturally tries to avoid her. After some arguing Tomoki leaves and returns with an actual hot guy. Tomoko finally finishes the race and is left sitting completely physically and emotionally exhausted to the point she cannot even joke about it. Unnamed girls stand over her admiringly asking how she knows an upperclassman soccer player.

The three-legged race starts soon after, and Hina calls over Tomoko to join. Tomoko hopes to be paired with Kakinuma so as to suffer more "emotional damage" by being paired with another guy, but instead she ends up with yet another hot guy, leaving her freaked out once again.
